Sri Lanka Flights Information

Although only a small island, Sri Lanka has daily flights from the UK. Sri Lanka has also become one of the largest connection point for the Fareast and Australasia. Once known as Ceylon, Sri Lanka is now famous for its beautiful beaches, rolling hills, tea plantations, wildlife and cultural heritage.

Visit Colombo, the capital and largest city of Sri Lanka. Flights to Colombo and Sri Lanka arrives at Bandaranaike International Airport (also known as Katunayake International Airport). The travel time and distance from the airport to Colombo central is about 1 hour, 31 Kilometres (19 Miles). Most tourist visitors to Sri Lanka stopover at Negombo, once a large fishing village, now a large tourist resort with miles of golden sandy beaches that is only 8 Kilometres (5 Miles) which is about 15 minutes drive. Sri Lanka flights take around ten to twelve hours direct from the UK and land at Colombo but a stopover may extend further 1 to 6 hours.

Peak Season – Peak season for Sri Lanka flights is December to April, during the lowest average rainfall. Whenever you choose to fly, we can find cheap flights to Sri Lanka even in the peak season.

Low Season – Flight prices tend to be lower around May, June, September and October when the chance of rain is higher but majority of time the rain will only last couple of hours and then follows quite comfortable hot weather.
